Gophers vs. Pioneers

Gophers swept at home again this weekend over the #7 Denver Pioneers.
Friday night was a very close game and a well fought battle with the Gophers winning 3-2. Why did Denver change goalies between nights? Gophers took the second night 5-1 and Denver was never in the game at all. Better for us I guess.

With two weeks left and four games up for grabs in the 2005-2006 regular season, the Gophers are going to need to keep their current pace. Next Friday the Gophs travel to Alaska...ugh...which means no TV. Stupid Alaska. Since we can't drill for oil and the Gophers are not on TV we may as well give them back to the Russians. Not really. I like Alaska, they are generally more miserable than we are in the winter.

After that I have tickets to the Friday March 3rd game against MN-Duluth. This should be a fun weekend too. They are a great rivalry. Minnesota needs to win all these games to keep their lead on the WCHA. They are 2 points up on Wisconsin and 3 points up on Denver right now so every game will count! GO GOPHERS!
